Weighbridge Operator

Salary: £677 per week, including shift allowanceContract: Full-time, permanentWorking hours: Shift system of 4 days on followed by 4 days off, average 40.36 hours per week, 6am-6pm  

One minute you might be signing in a visitor, the next letting a driver know that their vehicle is too heavy... You've got to be great at communicating in this busy job at our Colnbrook Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), a plant where mixed recyclables like cardboard and cans are separated from non-recyclable waste. You'll be based in the weighbridge office, alongside the weighbridge: like a large set of scales that vehicles drive over, enabling you to accurately record weight data on a computer system, so you'll need to be tech-savvy too.

What you’ll be doing as Weighbridge Operator  • Identifying the customer account and material being transported and ensuring that the right details (e.g. vehicle registration) are recorded.• Checking paperwork.• Keeping the weighbridge balanced and reading zero.• Making sure that that all drivers and visitors are wearing protective clothing.

What you’ll needExcellent numeracy, literacy and computer skills are a must, and weighbridge experience is a bonus, but we'll give you all the training you need.
