I am recruiting for my client who are based close to Heathrow Airport and have offices and agents around the world. Â
They are eeking an organised and detail-oriented Export Clerk to join them. Â The Export Clerk will be responsible for facilitating the exportation of goods for their clients, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of export processes, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process export documentation, including export declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and customs authorities to ensure timely and accurate export of goods.
- Ensure all shipments comply with relevant regulations, including customs and international trade laws.
- Maintain accurate records of export shipments, ensuring all documentation is filed and tracked appropriately.
- Work closely with the customs brokerage team to resolve any clearance issues or discrepancies.
- Communicate with clients, suppliers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
- Process export orders, verifying shipping details, and making necessary adjustments as required.
- Assist with coordinating transportation logistics, including booking freight and arranging for the shipment of goods.
- Resolve any issues related to shipping, delays, or documentation discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and providing status updates on shipments.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve efficiency and streamline export processes.
- Requirements
- Previous experience in export logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar.
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Knowledge of logistics software or Freight Management Systems is a plus.
