Air Import Manager - Freight Forwarding

Location: Colnbrook SL3

Job Type: Full-Time (office based 9/6pm Mon-Fri)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and Air Import Manager to lead our clients import operations team in Colnbrook. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of air import operations, including customs clearance, staff management, and inbound operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of import coordinators and support staff.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Customs Handling:

    • Ensure compliance with all customs CDS regulations and procedures. (CDS experience is essential)
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of customs documentation.
    • Liaise with customs authorities and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Operational Management:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the air import department.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and service quality.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Client Relations:

    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their import needs are met.
    • Address client inquiries and resolve any service issues promptly.
    • Provide regular updates to clients on shipment status.
  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all import activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all import transactions.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Cost Management:

    • Monitor and control departmental budgets and expenses.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce costs.
