Job Title: Site Supervisor
Overview:
The Site Supervisor will assist Project Managers in overseeing utility infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing site operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring the successful execution of projects across the electricity, gas, and water sectors. The Site Supervisor will ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies while maintaining high-quality work and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise site activities, ensuring utility infrastructure work is completed to high standards.
- Issue daily progress reports to the Site/Project Manager, with a focus on utility project milestones.
- Communicate and issue work instructions to staff and contractors, ensuring clarity in utility-specific tasks.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, policies, and safety procedures related to utilities.
- Identify and escalate extra work requirements specific to utility projects.
- Accurately record and document project details, including as-laid information for utility assets.
- Liaise with customers, contractors, and external stakeholders in the utility industry.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints or site issues related to utility services.
- Support project scheduling, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance for utility projects.
- Promote continuous improvement and efficiency in utility infrastructure installations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people management abilities within the utility sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in utility project coordination.
- Proficient in IT and reporting tools used in utility management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on utility systems and installations.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations, including CDM and industry-specific compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and technical documents related to utility networks.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Extensive knowledge of the utility industry (electric, gas, and water).
- Manual Handling and Health & Safety Awareness certifications.
- SSSTS or SMSTS
Desirable:
- First Aid certification.
- CSCS certification.
- NRSWA Supervisor certification.
- MBA (preferred).
- Significant experience in the installation and management of utility infrastructure projects, including substations, pipeline works, and distribution networks.
Salary & Package:
- Full-time, permanent position.
