This popular school are seeking an Interim Teacher of Music to join their vibrant Performing Arts Faculty. This role is ideal for a dynamic and passionate educator who can inspire students and foster a love for music. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad and balanced Music curriculum and contributing to the department’s thriving extra-curricular activities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons across a variety of styles and genres.
  • Encourage students’ initiative and innovation in music, supporting them to explore different musical approaches.
  • Collaborate with the Drama and Dance departments to produce concerts, school musicals, and other public events showcasing student talents.
  • Utilise and maintain the department’s facilities, including two specialist teaching rooms, six practice rooms, a recording studio, and a school theatre.
  • Support and develop the vibrant peripatetic schedule that enhances students’ rehearsal and performance experiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Music or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching music up to GCSE level.
  • Strong passion for music education and performance.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively within the Performing Arts Faculty.
