Hours: 37.5 hours per week

This is a great opportunity for a graduate in a biochemistry related degree looking for their first role in the industry. 0-2 years industry experience is required for this role.

This role is for a R&D Scientist position in the Protein Chemistry group, part of the Protein and Process Analytics R&D team, whose function is to deliver high-value technical innovation. The position will provide analytical support using a range of analytical methods, including CE-SDS, liquid chromatography (SEC, PrA affinity, RP) and mass spectrometry (MS) to R&D projects, as well as more general analytical testing as required.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform experiments, analyse data and report results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Make sure scientific data is accurate and take meaningful conclusions of data against experimental goal
  • Develop skills and expertise in the Protein Chemistry area, with focus on product quality attributes (e.g. size variants, charge variants, glycan analysis) and related assays (e.g. SEC, CE-SDS, RP-LC, MS)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Biochemistry, Biology or Biomanafctruing.
  • Experince with protein chemistry would be desirable.
  • previous work in an analytical laboratory with experience in at least one protein chemistry related technique (i.e liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis), with application to protein analysis.
