This is an excellent opportunity to become a Mental Health Assistant at a school in Slough that specialises in helping children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, behavioural issues, and trauma-related difficulties.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who come from challenging backgrounds and are dealing with various mental health and behavioural issues. Many students have faced trauma, and they require consistent, empathetic support to help them manage their emotions and behaviour in a safe and supportive environment.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Assist in providing one-on-one and group support to children struggling with mental health, behavioural issues, and trauma.
- Help create an environment that encourages emotional regulation and stability.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement tailored strategies for emotional and mental well-being.
- Foster positive relationships with students to promote trust and encourage positive behavioural changes.
