Are you an experienced and motivated social work professional looking for a leadership role in a fast-paced safeguarding environment? Join Slough’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) as an Assistant Team Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

About the Role

As an Assistant Team Manager (ATM) in MASH, you will support the Team Manager in overseeing a multi-agency response to safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and effective decision-making. You will provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to social workers, ensuring best practices in screening, triaging, and risk assessing referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Team Manager in leading the MASH team, ensuring high standards of safeguarding and decision-making.
  • Provide supervision and professional guidance to social workers, helping them assess and respond to referrals effectively.
  • Ensure that thresholds for intervention are correctly applied, working in partnership with police, health, education, and other agencies.
  • Oversee triage and screening processes, ensuring timely assessments and risk management.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, service development, and performance monitoring.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager when required, ensuring continuity of leadership.
About You

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Significant experience in MASH, safeguarding, child protection, or frontline social work.? Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience mentoring or managing staff.? Excellent risk assessment and decision-making abilities in a high-pressure environment.? A commitment to multi-agency working and improving outcomes for children.
