The School

This humble all-through SEN School is open for pupils with a variety of needs ranging from severe, profound and complex disabilities to moderate learning needs. The youngest learners are 3 years old and the oldest are 19. This requires highly specialised teaching team. Teachers are skilled in helping over 70 pupils overcome barriers to their learning due to their varied special needs. In return they receive support and guidance alongside a good compensation package.

The role:

  • Adapt the lessons and classroom management to pupils with complex needs
  • Stimulate pupils  personal, social and emotional development
  • tailor experiences to individual needs and measure the progress that all children make
  • encourage children to initiate activities for themselves
  • adapt the curriculum to the age and ability of students
  • actively engage with the local community

The candidate

  • PGCE or willingness to obtain, with SEN experience
  • Advantage of experience with: EBD, SpDL, SLD, VI, HI, PMLD, PSLD
  • Creative, enthusiastic and engaging
  • Able to assess pupils specific needs and adapt the curriculum to their level of understanding
  • Experience in writing schemes of work and developing curriculum
  • Proven track record of raising attainment in a complex environment
