Brief

Electrical Engineer needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Smethwick who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Electrical Engineer that takes pride in their work.

The successful candidate must hold a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification/City and Guilds or Equivalent and have a keen interest in being an Electrical Engineer. If you have your 2391 Inspection and Test that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Electrical Engineer will include:

  • The candidate will be required to have proven previous experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance of electrical infrastructure systems (single and three phase) in a NHS Environment
  • The main responsibilities will include effectively performing electrical maintenance of all relevant assets, especially lighting and small power (including stock control), through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There will be a requirement in completing reactive tasks that get raised
  • Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures)
  • Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
  • Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work

What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Engineer:

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification/City and Guilds or Equivalent
  • 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS7671
  • Experience of working with HTM's
  • Have experience of PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience of working on electrical systems
  • 2391 Inspection and Test (Desirable)
  • MEWP 3A & 3B (Desirable)
  • HV Knowledge/Experience (Desirable)
