Here's what you'll be doing

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £7 billion revenue business serving c20,000 customers and approximately 200,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance and Insight Senior Development Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. For this role, you will provide reporting solutions using appropriate coding tools such as SSRS (SQL), VBA or Power BI and as such will have the ability to develop and support BI solutions built on MS SQL server and to facilitate business stakeholders in making efficient and informed outcomes. This role offers the hybrid working approach, where you will be working in the office (Solihull) at least 2 days per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop reporting solutions to fulfil business requests, OFGEM/Regulatory RFI’s and support Projects/initiatives. Solutions will be developed to meet the end user’s requirement. Tools such as SQL Server Management Studio and Power BI will be utilised to develop reports or dashboards.
  • Analyse and report on performance of the segment, teams and initiatives. Identifying trends, providing insight on their underlying causes, and stakeholders where under-performance is identified.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual business plans, business cases, forecasts and targets to form a firm basis for steering business decisions, being a key interface with Controlling, Mid-Market, and Corporate and Strategic teams.
  • Report and provide insight on the metering portfolio including gains and losses, and churn rate at a segment level.
  • Ensure resource planning is in place and meets the segments needs for capacity and skill levels, with appropriate training initiatives in place to support this. Facilitate business communications across the segment.
What we need from you
  • Experience and proven track record of building analytical and visualisation models through SQL, Power BI, Excel, Access and other appropriate applications.
  • The ability to interpret complex, multiple sources of data and insight to optimise financial performance, provide intelligent commentary and make strategic recommendations to inform critical business outcomes.
  • Proven experience of working with Big Data/Data warehouse and to data governance/GDPR/best practise standards.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to balance tactical and strategic business priorities.
  • Influencing skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders and peers to consider new opportunities taking account of different levels of risk appetite.
