Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to work within an EBD childrens home in Solihull, Birmingham. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, and who is ready to support the day-to-day management of the home, providing leadership and guidance to care staff.

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care are maintained while providing the necessary support to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Registered Manager in the operational management of the EBD childrens home, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practice.

Supervise and support care staff, providing training, guidance, and performance reviews to promote best practices in EBD care.

Assist in developing and reviewing care plans, ensuring each childs specific emotional and behavioral needs are met with a therapeutic, individualized approach. ? Provide leadership during challenging situations, supporting staff to manage complex behaviors effectively.

Monitor and evaluate care practices and ensure the home is prepared for inspections, particularly those conducted by Ofsted.

Build strong working relationships with external professionals, families, and stakeholders involved in the childrens care and progress.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in a residential EBD childrens home, with experience in managing behavior and leading teams.

Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce Qualification (or equivalent). ? Knowledge of EBD care strategies, safeguarding, and child protection. ? Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively support and motivate a care team.

A compassionate approach to working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Desirable Skills:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).

Experience of working with children with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
