Head of Care Services required to oversee the day to day operations of a luxury care home and retirement living apartments. Located near Solihull in the West Midlands, this is an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a dedicated and highly skilled care team in the delivery of high quality care in a stunning care home environment.

As the Head of Care you will set the standard for senior care responsibilities including ensuring excellence in resident care, providing outreach and support to families, hiring and retaining dedicated staff, and facilitating ongoing training opportunities for team members.

You will be required to assist the General Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the home and stand in for the General Manager across the whole range of their duties in their absence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinate the resident assessment process, ensuring involvement of the resident at each stage.
  • Actively support and implement effective Infection Control measures across the home.
  • Oversee the Safe Medication Management programme, ensuring robust auditing procedures are in place.
  • Recruit all Care Assistants ensuring recruitment needs are monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete all one-to-one meetings and yearly performance reviews with staff.
  • Ensure appropriate staff coverage through effective staff scheduling
  • Participate in and facilitate training and induction programmes, ensuring all your staff are well inducted and trained to the necessary standards.
  • Manage staff absence and conduct return to work sessions with staff
  • Conduct and oversee effective handovers between all shifts

Requirements:

  • RGN / NVQ 4 in Care and Registered Managers Award or QCF Level 4 Diploma in Management
  • Two years' experience in long-term care, ideally dementia care
  • Awareness of COSHH and CQC regulations
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

Salary:

  • up to £63,000pa DOE | 40hrs per week
  • Core hours Mon - Fri with some weekend working to ensure management presence and support 7 days a week
  • 25 days leave + bank holidays
