An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Finance Analyst to join a well-established finance team in Solihull. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop both technical finance skills and commercial awareness, working closely with experienced professionals in a supportive environment. The position has a strong focus on Excel, making it an excellent fit for individuals who enjoy working with data and financial analysis.

As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will work alongside the Sales Ledger team, assisting with invoice processing, investigating queries with Credit Controllers, and managing accounts. More importantly, you will provide key support to the Qualified Accountants in the team, particularly during month-end, where you will assist with reconciliations and financial reporting. Given the analytical nature of the role, strong Excel skills-including confidence in creating V-Lookups and manipulating formulas-are essential. A solid understanding of finance, particularly knowledge of accruals and accrued income, is also required. This is a permanent position, and the business is ideally looking for an immediately available candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sales Ledger team with raising invoices and reconciling accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve queries in collaboration with Credit Controllers.
  • Support Qualified Accountants with month-end reconciliations and reporting.
  • Analyse financial data and assist in preparing key reports.
  • Use Excel extensively, including creating and modifying V-Lookups and formulas.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial records, particularly around accruals and accrued income.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills, with confidence in V-Lookups and formula manipulation.
  • Prior finance experience or ongoing/recent finance studies (degree, AAT, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Knowledge of accruals and accrued income.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Immediately available or on a short notice period.
