gap technical is proud to be partnering with a global manufacturing leader in their search for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a cutting-edge facility near Birmingham, West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform front-line repairs and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime, improve reliability, and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a wide range of manufacturing and ancillary equipment, from large-scale machinery to site services.
  • Work within a structured maintenance schedule to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams on plant release, downtime estimation, and maintenance solutions.
  • Deliver effective and efficient breakdown repairs to ensure smooth production.
  • Uphold EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) and quality standards, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, creating a safe working environment.
  • Operate in a dynamic, fast-paced production setting while maintaining high standards.
What We're Looking For
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of PLC systems.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in electrical maintenance.
  • Experience in heavy engineering or a similar industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit drawings for fault-finding.
  • 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (18th Edition preferred).
  • Computer literate with the ability to use maintenance systems effectively.
  • Additional qualifications such as HNC in Engineering are desirable.
  • Background in the metal industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of EHS requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operating mobile equipment such as EOTC and FLT.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
