Senior Residential Support Worker at EBD Children's Home

Location: Solihull

Salary: circa £28,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations, providing care and support to residents.
  • Enforce operational policies and care practice standards.
  • Lead the team on shift, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people.
  • Create a warm and supportive environment.
  • Implement individualized care plans to ensure resident welfare.
  • Provide guidance and support to bank staff, volunteers, and the Deputy/Manager

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Understanding of Senior Residential Care Worker role and responsibilities.
  • Respectful and empathetic approach to individuals with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with service users, professionals, families.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, bank holidays, and attend meetings.
  • Understanding of learning disability and EBD needs, and ability to respond effectively.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to provide personal care with sensitivity and respect.
  • Professional conduct with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to plan and deliver stimulating activities.
  • Experience in key worker responsibilities, including liaising with professionals, writing reports, and attending reviews.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviors.
  • Proven experience managing staff and leading shifts in the Health & Social Care sector.
  • Experience supervising staff in a social care setting.
  • NVQ 3 / Level 3 or 4 diploma (or equivalent) in residential care (children/young people) - Essential.
