SEN Teaching Assistant

Solihull, Birmingham (B90) | 90 -105 | Long-Term to Permanent | ASAP Start

Long Term Futures is looking for an adaptable and experienced Teaching Assistant to support in Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. You will be working with a range of SEN (Autism, ADHD, ASD, SLCN and SPD) This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in multiple students lives by providing tailored educational and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support across infants and primary school classes, focusing on managing behaviour and supporting their academic progress.
  • Implement strategies from the pupil's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and adapt learning activities to meet their specific needs.
  • Assist with behaviour management and ensure the safety and engagement of the pupil throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to monitor progress and update support strategies as needed.
  • Be adaptable and be able to work across all Key Stages depending on which classroom or pupil is being assisted.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience working in either Key Stage One or Key Stage Two.
  • A patient, empathetic approach and strong ability to engage pupils in planned lessons and activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the school team and adapt to the pupil's changing needs.
