The Island Project is seeking a dynamic Office Administrator to support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Office Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient school operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact.

Main Responsibilities

  • As an Office Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the school. Your duties will include:
  • Managing reception duties such as answering phones, welcoming visitors, and handling deliveries.
  • Maintaining and updating financial records, including using SAGE software and managing petty cash and monthly budget reconciliation.
  • Supporting payroll processes, including NEST Pension enrolment and liaising with payroll providers.
  • Ordering and monitoring cleaning and office supplies.
  • Coordinating recruitment activities such as liaising with agencies, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new staff, including arranging training.
  • Maintaining HR records and ensuring the Single Central Register is up to date.
  • Providing administrative support for HR meetings, including minute-taking.

  • Be highly organised with excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Possess strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Suite, and PowerPoint.
  • Understand the principles of GDPR and confidentiality.
  • Show resilience and remain calm under pressure.
  • Be creative, proactive, and a team player with the ability to work independently

Requirements

  • Proven administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Basic typing and IT skills.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of the Island Project.
  • Awareness of health and safety policies, information security, and equality and diversity principles.
