About the school

The school is an Alternative Provision school based in Christchurch and caters for primary and secondary pupils aged 6 - 16 years with challenging behaviour, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ASD, and various other needs including trauma, school phobia Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). All learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). 

About the role

The successful Youth Offender Support Asssistant will be required to work 1-1 and in small groups with pupils, assisting them academically as well as overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally. You will be responsible for supporting the young people in the setting to manage their behaviour, as well as providing fun and safe environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Young Offender Support Worker you will:

  • Be available Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
  • Be passionate about changing the lives of young people with mental health issues
  • Have experience working with young people with mental health issues.
