Croydon NHS Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Neurortherapy team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio.The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • The post holder will work as a member of the Integrated Neuro therapy team, in the community neuro rehab team.
  • The post holder will provide a range of specialized rehabilitation OT input, to patients with neurological conditions, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
  • The post holder is an autonomous practitioner but will work under the supervision of a Band 7 Occupational therapist
  • To carry out appropriate specialist occupational therapy assessment of needs including physical, cognitive/perceptual sensory, emotional and environmental to assist with planning appropriate short and long term intervention/rehabilitation
  • To manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
  • To negotiate with patients and carers to develop individual care plans to meet the assessed needs and to maximise independence in an efficient and sensitive way, offering choice were possible.
  • To assess for and organise the provision of necessary and appropriate minor adaptations, and carry out reviews of provision and safety checks as appropriate

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Knowledge of a range of OT models and demonstrate being up to date with trends and developments in OT neurological rehab.
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification
