SEND Learning Support Assistant – SEND Department

Temporary cover

We are currently recruiting for SEND learning support assistants looking for flexible work to work in a SEND Department at a large Secondary school situated in the South Elmsall Wakefield. This large mainstream schools holds a large SEND Department, and alternative provision and a bungalow on site that houses students with additional needs, behaviour and social difficulties. The school upholds the importance of inclusivity amongst their students.

Job Spec & Description:

  • Hold a degree, Teaching assistant qualification or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience supporting secondary age students in a classroom or similar setting.
  • Some experience of children with SEND or behaviour difficulties.
  • Passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Develop trusted relationships with the students and teaching staff.
  • Ensure you follow the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Must have a DBS on the subscription service or willing to apply for one.
