English Teacher

Are you passionate about teaching English and inspiring students to excel in their language skills? Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher for a role in the South Heath area.

Role: English Teacher

Location: South Heath

Start Date: September 2024

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging English lessons that comply with curriculum standards.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports the learning needs of all students.
• Utilise both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and development.
• Offer timely and constructive feedback, emphasising strengths and areas for improvement to guide students toward academic achievement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Cultivate a love for literature by exploring a variety of genres and authors.
• Incorporate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and promote digital literacy.
• Establish clear behaviour and academic expectations to maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Promote collaboration and peer interaction through group activities, cooperative learning, and inclusive discussions.

To register for supply work, you MUST meet the following criteria:

• Hold QTS / PGCE or the equivalent (Unqualified Teachers also welcome to apply)
• Hold, or be willing to carry out, an enhanced DBS
• Be able to provide professional references to cover you for at least 2 years.
• Be a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher with the school’s values at the forefront of what you are doing.
• Have good classroom management and ability to engage a diverse range of pupil abilities.
• Be flexible and willing to go the extra mile to support pupil progress
• Able to commute to South Heath and the surrounding areas
