Our client, a leading organization in the aerospace industry, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join their leadership team at the South Molton aerospace manufacturing plant. In this key role, you will lead the execution and deployment of the Strategic Quality Plan, providing Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal teams. You will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement activities and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards in line with industry regulations and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary quality interface with customers to ensure all requirements are understood and met, assisting in complaint resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support the Supply Chain Management team by analyzing supplier quality data, providing expertise, and ensuring suppliers meet product and process quality requirements.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS), supporting new product development and process launches.
  • Participate in and potentially lead internal audits of Quality Systems, ensuring customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes.
  • Analyze quality metrics, conduct managerial reviews, and develop action plans to address performance gaps at an operational level.
  • Establish and implement a Quality structure that supports strategic business plans and objectives.
  • Design and deliver quality assurance training programs to improve the overall quality understanding and application across the site.
  • Support product development, including customer expectation identification, manufacturing and test support, design reviews, reliability analysis, and evaluation of test programs.
  • Lead improvement teams focusing on process capability development, control plan analysis, and process audits.
  • Ensure development, implementation, and auditing of complex inspection and test plans, standards, and procedures/work instructions.
  • Evaluate team performance, manage talent development, and coordinate with plant leadership to create action plans based on customer and product performance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Management role within the aerospace industry is essential.
  • Must have knowledge of CAA or EASA Part 21 Sub Part G regulations.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, continuous improvement methods, strategic management, and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated success in driving quality and continuous improvement results.
  • In-depth experience in using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies to solve quality issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead change through influence.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to learn and apply customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage quality processes across teams and departments.
