- Hours: 40 hours per week, 12.5-hour shifts, including sleepovers

They have recently opened a children’s home in South Shields, providing a safe and nurturing environment for four children aged 8-18 who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, and self-harm/suicidal thoughts. They are currently seeking a dedicated residential childcare worker who is eager to grow within the organisation, with opportunities to advance to senior positions and beyond.
Day-to-day of the role:- Respond to the identified needs of children and young people as outlined in individual care plans.
- Work collaboratively with young people, their families, social workers, and other relevant agencies.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, procedural, and good practice requirements.
- Prioritise the safety and welfare of young people.
- Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and review of care, health, and education plans.
- Act as a key worker to individual young people as required.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare and rights of children and young people.
- Maintain a comfortable physical environment in line with standards and guidance.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals.
- Undertake administrative tasks and record-keeping.
- Contribute to the development of positive community links and service development.

- At least 1 year of UK experience in residential childcare.
- Full UK License and own transport.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (for children/young people) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Maths & English.

- Good communication skills.
- Emotional resilience.
