We are currently representing a leading company in the industry, seeking a proactive and strategic Channel Manager to oversee national and key accounts within a designated channel or sector. This role is pivotal in engaging with and supporting Channel Sales Managers and Sales Development Representatives to ensure seamless execution of sales plans and fostering strong relationships with key business contacts.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Own, develop, and execute a strategic sector plan, reviewing regularly with the Line Manager and Business Insights team.
  • Collaborate with field sales to ensure the sector plan is relevant and aligned, emphasizing collective collaboration.
  • Deliver the strategic plan by sector for the account portfolio, including development, retention of existing business, and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Create and provide detailed period briefs for accounts with field coverage or customer engagement contact.
  • Design and implement tactical activities in accounts to support the account plan, ensuring alignment and agreement three months in advance.
  • Manage account payment terms effectively, striving for optimal conditions that benefit the organisation.
  • Proactively manage the account portfolio from a credit perspective, ensuring timely resolution of disputes and queries.
  • Regularly review account profitability and present business plans quarterly to the senior sales management team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in a Business discipline preferred.
  • Experience in National Account Management, ideally within a food-related business.
  • Strong sales skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker and active doer, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Highly developed numerical skills with a complete understanding of P&L to Senior Management level.
  • Significant travel across the UK is required, hence high mobility is essential.
