SEN Teaching Assistant | ASAP

Location: Southall, Ealing

Full-time, 5 Days / week

Teach Plus are currently working with a 2-form entry, 'Good' primary school, located in Southall, Ealing who are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP.

The role is to work one to one with a child in Reception with Autism and complex needs, delivering SALT and OT programs.

The school is a welcoming, nurturing primary school who encourage confidence, independence and mutual respect across the school. They welcome and celebrate a diverse community which pupils are proud to be a part of.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Follow the class teacher and SENCO's direction in supporting the child both inside and outside the classroom
  • Build a strong, positive relationship, setting clear boundaries with the child
  • Follow plans for activities and intervention sessions provided by the class teacher
  • Support with learning and regulating behaviour using a range of strategies
  • Deliver SALT and OT programs
  • Ensure the child feels supported and safe by having a warm and nurturing approach

The ideal candidate for the SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Have a passion for working with children with SEND
  • Have experience working with children with SEND in a school setting
  • Experience working with children with Autism
  • The ability to build rapport with the child and be able to respond to the child's individual needs
  • Follow directions from the class teacher, SENCO, and other members of staff
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
