Professional Technical are working with an established medical focused Design Consultancy based in West London and are searching for an experienced Design Engineer with at least 2 years design service experience. Candidates can be based in either the Warwickshire or West London location. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of pharmaceutical clients globally based in assisting them with varied stages of the design life-cycle.

As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Development of whole products as well as mechanisms and sub-assemblies
  • Performing tolerance analysis to ensure high quality robust complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as FMEA, CFD and computer simulation
  • End-to-end project management of multiple projects from concept through to manufacture
  • Rapid prototyping, functional lab testing and analysis of test data
  • Work with external manufacturing partners and other suppliers

To be considered for the role of Design Engineer, you will have:

  • 2+ years of design experience
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
  • Able to present a design portfolio as this is required to support each application
  • Advanced user of CAD (SolidWorks, CREO, Siemens NX), for solid and surface-based modelling and able to create 2D technical drawings
  • Proof of developing successful design solutions
  • Experience in developing plastic injection molded components and enclosures for mass manufacture
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical skills which will include engineering calculations
