?About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a leading independent accountancy and advisory firm in Southampton as an Audit and Accounts Senior. In this role, you will work closely with partners and managers, delivering client-focused, commercially astute services with professionalism and precision. As a natural leader, you'll mentor and develop junior team members, helping them reach their full potential and building a strong, cohesive team.

While the role primarily focuses on audit, it offers variety, with opportunities to engage in non-audit work such as statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance advice, and ad-hoc services. Skills & Expertise * Fully qualified ACA or ACCA professional. * Minimum of 2 years' auditing experience, including a proven track record in leading audits. * Solid technical knowledge of UK accounting standards (primarily FRS102) and auditing standards. * Proficiency with audit and accounts software as well as Microsoft Office 365. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, colleagues, and partners. * Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. * Keen attention to detail and a diligent approach to work. * A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities * Lead full-cycle audit engagements, from planning and execution to final delivery. * Supervise, delegate, and review the work of trainees, offering on-site technical support and guidance. * Deliver comprehensive audit files for review, ensuring adherence to quality standards. * Actively participate in client planning and audit closure meetings, building trusted relationships. * Prepare and review annual statutory accounts and corporation tax services. * Drive team motivation and foster an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. * Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and regulations. * Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a personal and efficient service. * Proactively identify client needs and communicate solutions to managers and partners.* Meet annual chargeable hour targets and take ownership of your professional development.
