Our client is a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers based in Southampton, UK. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including accounting, audit and regulated services, tax consultancy, and corporate advisory.

They are seeking a Business Services Senior, this would be a great opportunity for a proactive, relationship-driven professional with a strong focus on client success and business growth. You will work with the Business Services team and be responsible for deliver a dependable outsourced management accounting services, providing clients with the support they need to enhance business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and review annual bookkeeping for clients, offering improvement suggestions.
  • Set up new client bookkeeping systems, particularly with Xero, and provide client training.
  • Complete and review bookkeeping tasks, VAT returns, cashflow forecasts, and CIS returns.
  • Reconcile and correct trial balances and demonstrate strong knowledge of VAT schemes, including partial exemption.
  • Supervise and provide coaching to junior staff, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate with clients and manage tasks to meet deadlines and budgets as directed by the management team.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Xero, using it effectively and confidently
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills with both clients and colleagues
  • An ability to make effective decisions about the appropriate channel of communication
  • Strong and effective organisation skills and a methodical approach to their work
  • Efective prioritisation skills, adapting your approach to reach multiple deadlines
  • An ability to work independently without close supervision
