Financial Planning Accountant

Financial Planning Accountant (Full time) - Salary - £43,393.00 - £51,050.00 (dependent on experience) - Hybrid working

About the role

You will support the Head of FP&A and the FP&A Manager in the management of the financial planning cycles of strategic plan, annual budget and in-year forecasting, providing financial insight, support and challenge to the business. You will also develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the financial planning cycle ensuring financial discipline and rigour are maintained within the business
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the business areas, leveraging knowledge of the commercial environment to effectively understand, and challenge business assumptions
  • Support with management of the D365 Budgeting & Forecasting and Project Management & Accounting modules.
  • Support key business decision making through financial insight, analysis and modelling
  • Maintain and develops strong working relationships across the business
  • Represent the Finance function within the business and promotes best practice financial management,
  • Work closely with finance business partners and finance analysts to analyse and understand monthly financial results and performance against plan.
  • Monitor and communicate progress against key performance indicators for the business
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models to support business decision
  • Support in the development and maintenance of a suite of self-service reporting for business stakeholders.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

What we're looking for

  • Appropriate Accounting qualification (i.e. CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • qualification)
  • Advanced Excel / financial modelling essential
  • Experience with capital projects
  • Experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience with financial reporting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics beneficial
  • Experience with Power BI and financial applications of Copilot desirable.
  • Strong communication & influencing skills and ability to understand different perspectives
  • Ability to problem solve

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend 2-3 days a week, with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home or spend more time at OSHQ.

Security: OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
