Management Accountant
Location: Southampton
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Closing Date: 3rd December 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance department of a leading organisation at the forefront of Britain's trading future. Due to growth and internal promotion, a new Management Accountant is sought to join the team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will analyse financial data, prepare detailed accounting reports (including balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements), and maintain accurate and up-to-date transnational and accounting records in line with established guidelines and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Management Accountant who is fully or partially qualified, or qualified by experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare external stakeholder reports to support decision-making and monitor company performance, including monthly IFRS, CAR, management packs, and other shareholder requirements.
  • Produce monthly journals to facilitate the preparation of management accounts.
  • Manage monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Analyze financial performance to support business decisions.
  • Act as a Business Partner for key operational units, including ports and terminals, while providing support for other areas as needed.
  • Develop forecasts and budgets, including RO presentations.
  • Approve P&L orders using Oracle/Maximo systems.
  • Assist with audits and provide support for project work or tasks as required.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and perform financial analysis as needed.
  • Prepare bad debt provisions and review accounts payable payment runs.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with demonstrable post-qualification experience.

Experience

  • Proven experience within a finance team, producing management accounts.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion is desirable.
