Our client, operating in the water sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Southampton. This permanent role involves working closely with Southern Water to deliver essential improvements and maintenance to water supply and wastewater treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management and review of design outputs and tender packs
- Producing and updating procurement schedules/plans
- Attending design and progress meetings
- Assisting in defining the required scope of works
- Procurement of MEICA process plant
- Undertaking technical and commercial bid analysis
- Programming and scheduling of projects
- Reviewing inspection and test plans
- Managing manufacturing phases off-site
- Holding regular progress meetings and obtaining progress reports
- Supporting the construction team and attending site as necessary
- Controlling site mechanical installation activities
- Producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements
- Issuing and accepting instructions
- Maintaining site reporting and record-keeping
- Ensuring adherence to the site installation programme
- Maintaining good working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and partners
- Ensuring completion and take-over of sub-contracts
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent qualification
- CSCS card or equivalent, along with an EUSR Card
- Full driving licence
- Experience in water/wastewater plant design, construction, and procurement
