Job Title: Machine Wirer
Location: Eastleigh
Job Type: Full-Time, contract
Salary: £17.40 per hour PAYE / £23 per hour umbrella
As a Machine Wirer, you will be responsible for the electrical wiring and assembly of industrial machinery, with a focus on ATEX-compliant equipment. You will work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure that all machinery is wired to the highest standards of safety and functionality, particularly for hazardous environments.
Key Responsibilities of the Machine Wirer
- Perform electrical wiring and assembly of industrial machinery, including ATEX-certified equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Install, wire, and connect electrical components, such as motors, sensors, control panels, and PLCs.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, including ATEX regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve complex wiring challenges.
- Document wiring processes and modifications for future reference.
- Adhere to company and industry safety protocols at all times.
The successful Machine Wirer will ideally have the below experience:
- Proven experience as a Machine Wirer in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of ATEX regulations and experience working with ATEX-certified equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with PLCs, control panels, and other industrial automation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in electrical wiring or engineering are highly desirable.
