Your new companyFinance Manager is required by a local public sector organisation who are in a period of growth hence the addition of the Finance Manager.Your new role

  • Complete monthly reconciliation of income, querying any anomalies
  • Management of Finance Officers including carrying out resource planning and managing recruitment, appraisal and professional development
  • Monitor budgets all year round, advising the Senior Finance Manager and CFO where revisions or changes are needed
  • Prepare and produce regular monthly monitoring reports and present business reports to senior management.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager and CFO to provide training
  • Oversee the finance team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring money is banked, invoices are paid promptly, money owed is collected, and clear records are kept
  • Ensure the Fixed Asset registers are up-to-date and the appropriate journals posted
  • Prepare, review & submit VAT returns, including advising on correct VAT treatment for transactions
  • Prepayments and accrual reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Accounting for payroll

What you'll need to succeed

  • Full right-to-work in the UK with prior finance experience in the UK
  • Experience working within budget monitoring
  • Public sector experience required, ideally within the NHS or Education
