Regional Head of Finance - Domiciliary Care

Compass Corporate Services are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of domiciliary health and social care services. Our client is a well-established and expanding organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across the UK.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Head of Finance to support financial operations within the South region. This key leadership role will work closely with the Regional Director and senior stakeholders to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting business growth.

The Role

As Regional Head of Finance, you will report to the Regional Director and have an indirect reporting line to the Group Financial Controller. You will oversee the finance function, managing a team of nine, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, a Management Accountant, and Payroll.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing financial operations and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Preparing monthly regional management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Managing the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Leading payroll operations to ensure correct and timely payments to employees.
  • Assisting with budget preparation, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.
  • Leading and mentoring the finance team to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and drive process improvements.

This role will suit a highly analytical and proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Location

This is a hybrid position, primarily based in the Southampton head office. Occasional travel to the central London office and other regional locations as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • 6+ years of experience in financial management.
  • Strong background in finance operations, including cash flow management and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
  • Experience in domiciliary services or wider healthcare is beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of PeopleSoft is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience as a Financial Controller is desirable, but not essential.

The Candidate

We are looking for a confident subject matter expert who is proactive, self-sufficient, and capable of leading financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, driving operational efficiencies, and delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

Interview Process

  • First-stage interview via Teams with senior finance team members.
  • Final face-to-face interview with the Regional Director.
