Food Production Labourer

Full-Time Temporary to Permanent

12.35 Per Hour (inclusive of attendance bonus)

5am Start / 2pm Finish, Monday to Friday (41-Hours Per Week)

This is an important position as you are supporting all parts of the business, so you need to be able to adapt, to take on changing tasks and duties throughout your shift.

Based outside of central Southampton, own transport is essential as no public transport available.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to join our food production team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. This role is essential for supporting various tasks within our food production operations, ensuring that client orders are completed efficiently and safely. The Labourer will work closely with other team (production and distribution) to maintain a productive work environment.

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity. After 12-weeks if you have proved your reliability and competency then you can progress to a Supervisory position, including a pay review, and progress further in the business through career development.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and cleaning of work sites before and after projects.
  • Carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Operate basic warehouse forklift and packing machinery.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a food production or labouring role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 25 kg).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a work environment.
  • A valid driver's licence is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
