Head of IT

Location: Southampton / Hybrid

Salary: up to 65K

Join a dynamic team, dedicated to delivering an exceptional educational experience supported by innovative technology. They seek an experienced and strategic Head of IT to lead their IT department and drive the digital strategy.

As the Head of IT, you will:

  • Support the Assistant Head in defining and executing an effective digital strategy.
  • Manage IT systems, including networking, cybersecurity, and cloud services, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Advise on future IT developments, keeping abreast of current trends and best practices.
  • Lead and line-manage a team of IT professionals to provide exceptional support to staff and students.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing IT teams.
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure and systems management.
  • Minimum 5 years' IT experience, with some project experience.
  • Experience in providing technical support in a service environment.
  • Knowledge of some of the following (Office 365 Administration, Azure AD, Intune. Windows Server (possibly SCCM, DPM, SCEP). Network Security Fabric includes edge firewalls, VPNs, and anti-virus software. Filtering and monitoring technologies including SSL decryption. Excellent all-round knowledge of Networks)

Desirable

  • Any MCSE/CCNA/VCP or formal networking qualification
  • Experience of working within a school environment
  • Experience of using iSAMS or other School MIS, including data entry.
