New Business Insurance Broker

Southampton (SO14 3JZ)

£24k basic plus commission (15k)

Southam Selections are working with an Insurance Brokers who deal with SME Insurance needs of tradesmen, local business, couriers and motor owners.

This role is working within their fleet team. You will be speaking to car / van / motorbike insurers and your job will be to convert their interest into a sale.

This will be a new business sales role and you will be making warm calls to prospects / new leads / lapsed clients / missed opportunities.

You don’t need to have experience working within Fleet or Insurance but you will need to have experience of working within a fast paced environment and experience working to targets / deadlines.

This will be based in a small but modern office and it’s a fantastic opportunity for a long term career.

Duties for a new business insurance broker include;

  • Develop new business opportunities in the fleet insurance sector
  • Negotiate competitive fleet insurance terms with leading insurers
  • To manage a portfolio of fleet insurance clients, from SMEs to large corporations
  • To conduct thorough risk assessments for commercial vehicle fleets
  • Provide expert advice on fleet risk management and insurance coverage
  • Stay updated on motor fleet insurance trends and regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with underwriters to create bespoke fleet insurance solutions
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and company procedures

Requirements for a New Business Insurance Broker includes;

  • Being able to manage your own pipelines and leads
  • A hard worker with an ability to overcome objections and sell the benefits of the company
  • Excellent negotiation and client relationship management skills
