A highly regarded full-service law firm are seeking a skilled and motivated Employment Solicitor to join their office in Southampton. The firm is consistently ranked Top Tier in the legal directories, Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with a broad client base, national and international clients across public, private and third sectors. You will be handing a mix of contentious and non-contentious and working primarily supporting Employer clients.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of employment law issues.
  • Conducting negotiations, mediations and settlement discussions on behalf of clients.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, redundancy procedures and employment dismissals.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in employment legislation and proactively advising clients on the implications for their business.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2years' PQE in employment law.
  • Experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment legislation case law, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide commercially-focused advice to clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Competent IT skills.
