Plant Shift Manager£72,488 Per Annum (£60,119 + £12,369 Shift Allowance)Excellent Benefits PackageLocation: Fawley, SouthamptonPermanent / Full-TimePertemps is seeking an experienced manager to join BOC, a leading global industrial gases company, at their Fawley site near Southampton. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of their site.Key Responsibilities
  • Permit Management: Prepare, issue, monitor, and control all Permits to Work, incorporating contractors' method statements and risk assessments
  • Customer Service:Maintain customer contact and service levels by handling supply enquiries in collaboration with the Operations Centre 
  • Emergency Management:Implement local site preventative measures and take action in emergencies
  • Operational Improvement:Review daily shift and production reports to identify and evaluate areas for improvement
  • Equipment Maintenance:Regularly inspect and check operating plant and machinery, diagnose faults, and provide feedback/raise notifications and work orders for rectification
  • Standards & Compliance:Adhere to company standards related to emergency response, contractor control, plant issue troubleshooting, routine maintenance, pre-start checks for out-of-hours machines, site security, and stakeholder liaison
About You
  • Background:Process-driven individual with an electrical or mechanical background
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the chemical or petrochemical industry is ideal
  • Emergency Response:Proven experience in managing and executing emergency response plans with confidence
  • Qualifications:Qualified in an electrical or mechanical plant-based field
  • Operational Understanding: Familiar with 24-hour operations and experienced in managing such environments
Working Hours
  • Shifts: Days & Nights (07:00-19:00 & 19:00-07:00)
  • The site is operational 24/7, therefore shifts span across operational hours and days
