Assistant Quantity Surveyor SouthamptonSalary up to £30,000 - £45,000 + Milage + 22 Days Holiday + PensionBlaymires Recruitment is working with a specialist Facade Contractor based in Southampton who is searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

They operate as a Principal Contractor specialising in facade remediation works. They are experts in the refurbishment market, delivering projects from rainscreen cladding replacements to internal fire-stopping projects that range up to £20 million.

The company is exceptionally busy and are looking to grow their commercial team. At present they would like an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to be site based in Southampton, where they are carrying out a large cladding remediation and fire stopping on three tower blocks, worth £15 million.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior level quantity surveyor to work a long side a Senior Quantity Surveyor and develop their skills.

The company will consider ether an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor who is looking forongoing training and support.

The role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • Assist with the financial control of projects valued from £5 million to £20 million.
  • Assist with applications for payment in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Assist with the production of monthly cost reports and forecasting.
  • Assist with the preparation of delay notices in accordance with contract terms.
  • Assist with the processing monthly subcontractor payments.
  • Assist with the settling final accounts.

Experience/Key Skills of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • HNC or Degree in Construction or Quantity Surveying would be an advantage.
  • Motivated and willing to learn.
  • Must have driving license.
  • Be able to communicate effectively.
  • Well organised and possess a methodical approach.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • An appreciation of commercial awareness.
  • Possess enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience.
