We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Research Manager to join our Application & Funding team at the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC). In this role, you will manage a portfolio of research activities, support researchers, and engage with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our funding programs. If you thrive under pressure, can manage tight deadlines, and are comfortable with travel and flexible working hours, we would love to hear from you!

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage Research Projects: Oversee a portfolio of research activities, ensuring they align with health improvement goals.
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to various projects within the team.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Assess issues, prepare reports, and support decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Participate in and deliver training to enhance skills.
  • Team Management: Manage tasks, delegate effectively, and develop staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualifications: HND, Degree, NVQ4, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Project management, understanding the health research landscape, and using complex information systems.
  • Skills: Problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and influencing.
  • Behaviours: Collaboration, excellence, impact, inclusion, and effectiveness.

Special Requirements

  • Travel: Occasional travel to London and Birmingham, including overnight stays.
  • Flexibility: Ability to accommodate early/late meetings with international partners.
