Business Development Manager Service, Maintenance and Repair
Hampshire Generators and HG Projects are a specialist standby power engineering company based in the centre of Hampshire we cover a wide range of products from large standby generator projects to supplying small portable power stations to individual customers.
To help with the rapid growth of our service engineer team we are looking for a Business Development Manager to build our customer base and introduce HG to corporate and government customers. You will focus on seeking out service contract and replacement standby systems projects.
What You Will Do
As a Service BDM you will maintain contact with our current customer base and develop it to its full potential, as well as proactively introducing us to new clients. The customer base is wide and will range from NHS sites, utility providers, MOD installations to commercial customers and facility maintenance providers.
You will work closely with our Service Department and Project Managers to maximise the opportunities that arise for ongoing maintenance contracts and generator and UPS supply and installation projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve existing customer database.
- Proactively introduce HG to new clients with a view to book a face-to-face meeting.
- Report new opportunities and update the CRM.
- Meeting and exceeding appointments and sales targets.
- Building effective relationships with prospective clients and within the business.
- Identifying new business opportunities.
- Supporting the tender process with the internal sales team.
- Negotiating and closing the deal.
- Working closely with operational colleagues to maximise new business opportunities and retain existing customers in line with the business strategy.
What We Expect of You
- A full, UK driving licence.
- Possess contacts within the target industries and sectors.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and seek out opportunities.
- Experience in data management and research.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Skilled with software packages ex, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- You are a team player; you will work with experienced industry professionals.
- You are tenacious, engaging and ambitious.
- Travel/overnight stays depending on the business needs.

- Salary negotiable
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 (flexibly for needs of the business)
- Location of Work will involve attending Company Offices, Clients sites and working from home.
- Company vehicle or car allowance.
- Commission up to £20,000 (dependant on achieving company targets)
