We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to in Southampton starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality Maths lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students, helping them to develop their numeracy skills and build confidence in their abilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals to support student learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.


Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in Maths.
  • Experience teaching students with special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the educational outcomes of SEN students.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
