We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with a strong commitment to inspiring young minds and fostering a love of science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential).
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Monitor and track student progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
- Attend and contribute to parent evenings and communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievement and behavior.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes respect and curiosity.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Experience teaching science in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
