We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Southampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students on Pathway 1, who follow a thematic approach to learning with a key class team that remains with them throughout the week.
The Role:
- Supporting a student 1:1, ensuring their individual learning and developmental needs are met.
- Assisting in delivering a multi-sensory, structured curriculum tailored to each student's abilities.
- Creating a calm and engaging environment that helps students reach their full potential.
- Working closely with the class team to provide consistency and support.
- Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with complex needs.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning support.
- Ability to create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- A strong team player who can collaborate effectively with staff and therapists.
- Experience with sensory-based learning is desirable but not essential.
