1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN School | Southampton | Full-Time | ASAP Start

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Southampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students on Pathway 1, who follow a thematic approach to learning with a key class team that remains with them throughout the week.



The Role:

  • Supporting a student 1:1, ensuring their individual learning and developmental needs are met.
  • Assisting in delivering a multi-sensory, structured curriculum tailored to each student's abilities.
  • Creating a calm and engaging environment that helps students reach their full potential.
  • Working closely with the class team to provide consistency and support.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with complex needs.
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning support.
  • Ability to create a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • A strong team player who can collaborate effectively with staff and therapists.
  • Experience with sensory-based learning is desirable but not essential.
