The Role: Education Administration Officer (Hybrid/Southend) £26,000

The Administration Officer will provide support and project support to the client and Professional Affairs Committees. This includes organising meetings, taking Minutes, recording and monitoring actions. The postholder will play a key role in helping to support and drive the committees’ activities and projects.

You will work closely with volunteers, who are passionate about learning and its power to create fantastic career pathways and address societal challenges. From time to time, you will help organise the clients presence at national and regional events.

A first-class administrator with a strong interest in developing networks, CPD, skills, education and EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) you will help support the development of key projects in these areas resulting from the recent strategic review and help define new ideas and opportunities in support of the clients’ charitable objectives.

Job Duties

  • Organise committee meetings for committees, including in-person, hybrid and online only
  • Take minutes, produce tables of actions and distribute to attendees in a timely fashion
  • Draft committee reports for Executive Board and Council
  • Oversee Terms of Reference, reviews and updates
  • Maintain the Committee pages on the company website and CRM database
  • Support cross-committee communication with other boards within the company and externally, particularly around professional recognition and training, working closely with colleagues across the business
  • Organise and attend meetings with the project founder and partners, online and in person; take notes, record and monitor actions
  • Organise and host twice yearly networking meetings for university project leads to share successes and solve challenges
  • Assist with enquiries from new and existing partner universities
  • Explore opportunities to develop and grow the project, including the Engineering programme
  • Help organise exhibition stands at various events including liaising with organisers, couriers, and coordinating volunteers
  • Create engaging content including articles, videos and imagery to share project outcomes and/or outreach event updates with the membership and wider community.
  • From time to time, provide support to other related activities as business needs require

The Candidate

  • Educated to a high standard, or equivalent professional experience in the education sector
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience of working with senior boards and committees and external stakeholders of all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport quickly and work with all levels of people from young people and early career professionals to senior academics and captains of industry
  • Integrity and maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including delivering presentations to large audiences
  • IT literacy skills
  • Teamworking and also able to work independently
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Enjoy working on multiple priorities
  • Able to travel to UK locations for meetings and related events
  • Professional, friendly and can-do attitude
  • Occasional set up of stands at exhibitions and events

The Package

  • Salary £26,000
  • Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour for lunch)
  • Hybrid working minimum of 2 days in the office 3 days from home
  • 9% company pension contribution
  • Christmas shut down from Christmas Eve until 2 nd Jan which will not be deducted from you holiday entitlement
  • Yearly holiday entitlement
