Job Summary – Property Inspector

We are seeking a skilled property professional to oversee compliance and maintenance inspections of a residential property portfolio in and around Essex.

This is a full-time position based in Southend-on-Sea with travel around the local portfolio.

9am-5.30pm. You must be able to drive.

Responsibilities as our Property Inspector

  • Visiting void units to record conditions inside and outside, and identify any maintenance issues that need addressing before re-let of the property
  • Providing schedules of work for maintenance issues
  • Complete licence compliance checks to ensure that all properties’ licenses are fully up to date and compliant.
  • Complete recurrent property inspections and raise any issues
  • Assist with out of hours emergency phone line on a rota basis

Skills Required as our Property Inspector

  • Good knowledge of general property maintenance, Health and Safety regulations and council licensing requirements
  • At least 3 years’ experience in lettings or property maintenance
  • A good understanding of private sector housing legislation
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office
  • Good understanding of property software packages
  • Ideally ARLA level 2 or 3 (desirable not essential)
  • You must be able to drive
