Your new role
We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join the Resource, Pay & Conditions Team on a part-time (24 hours) and temporary basis (until 27 June 2025 with the possibility of being extended). As an HR consultant, you will support in the provision of a high-quality and efficient Resourcing, Pay & Conditions service to all departments within the Council and external customers who contract for the service. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment covering all aspects of recruitment, pay & conditions.
This role offers flexible working, which includes: - Part-time working hours (up to 24 hours, work pattern and days negotiable) to suit a work-life balance and a blended approach to working from home and office based once a week and as and when required for meetings etc.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have a generalist HR background with preferred specialist knowledge of recruitment, pay & conditions. Strong knowledge of local government policies, procedures, and conditions of service would be beneficial.
To be considered for this role, you should be working towards or have completed year 3 (electives) CIPD or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment.
You will need to demonstrate and work to the Council's Values and Behaviours.
