Payroll Administrator
  • Annual Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 FTE (pro-rata for part-time)
  • Location: Southend-on-Sea
  • Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week)
Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process weekly payroll for 3 companies, handling 600-1000 employees at peak season. Tasks include importing clocking in times, processing commissions, expenses, and seasonal/year-end bonuses, and sending RTI submissions.
  • Manage monthly salary payroll for 4 companies with 30-50 employees, including similar tasks as weekly payroll.
  • Submit month-end figures and year-end duties such as P11D submissions to HMRC.
  • Handle pension figures processing and enrolment for new members in schemes with Aviva & Royal London.
  • Manage Attachments of Earnings Orders (AOE) processing and recording.
  • Input manual payroll journals into Sage 200.
  • Maintain employee personnel files, process and maintain right to work documents, and manage maternity/paternity leave.
  • Additional accounts admin duties as required, including bank postings.
  • Serve as the sole payroll position, requiring competence in independent work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, capable of managing complex payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with Mitre Finch Flexi Pay system & TMS Clocking in System preferred.
  • Strong organisational and methodical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and multitask effectively.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
